Trying for a baby is one of life’s most wonderful things and nothing beats that feeling of first holding your newborn baby in your arms.  But not everyone is lucky enough to be able to conceive when they would like to and it can sometimes be a long road to achieving this goal.

Trying for a baby is probably one of life’s most stressful things, alongside getting married and moving home.  Initially, we all try so hard to avoid pregnancy by using various methods of contraception and then when we do want a baby, it doesn’t happen straight away or even within a short period of time.

More and more couples now face difficulties conceiving naturally or within a year of first trying for a baby.

“One in six couples is infertile. In 40 per cent of cases the problem rests with the male, in 40 per cent with the female, ten per cent with both partners, and in a further ten per cent of cases, the cause is unknown.”

Many couples are now turning to complementary therapies to try and help, before going down the assisted conception route such as IUI, IVF, ICSI etc.  If nothing else, it’s a great tool in aiding your body to be in the best condition possible for when you do finally conceive.

Having had conception issues myself, I can understand very well what you may be going through.  From how it can take over your life, to how you don’t see anything else besides trying to conceive, and the disappointment month on month when your period arrives and you realise it was not your time yet again.

If you fall into the “unknown issues” category, then stress plays a big part, and can actually be the cause of why you’re NOT conceiving.

For women with known medical issues such as endometriosis, heavy periods, irregular periods, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or men with sperm issues such as low count or motility, reflexology can be of great benefit to you in improving these conditions and getting ready to conceive.

If all fails and you do end up going down the assisted conception route, then reflexology is a completely safe treatment to have during this time and can be a great aid to relaxation and stress relief.

I know all too well how stressful it can be going down the IVF route and am happy to be a support to you if this is the journey you have to take.

With this in mind, I have retrained myself in Fertility Massage and Fertility Reflexology (known as Reproreflexology) and use these wonderful techniques to aid and support you in this emotional journey.

Reproductive reflexology can be used as a stand-alone treatment to enhance your natural fertility or with conventional treatments, such as Clomid, with fully medicated cycles of IUI, IVF, ICSI as well as with donor eggs.

The hormone balance effects of fertility reflexology can help to regulate your monthly cycle, helping your periods and ovulation to return to normal and can ease the symptoms of PCOS and endometriosis

Reflexology treatments are carried out as per the week you are in, in your menstrual cycle if opting for a natural conception or is working to enhance the efficacy of the drugs if going through an assisted cycle.

Fertility reflexology is a great treatment to help the male client enhance their sperm and produce better quality sperm.

Here is an article to show how reflexology has helped many women who were struggling to fall pregnant do just that
